OUR STORY

Comfort King is a family-owned local business, started by Chris & Margo Larson in 1994 in Sioux Falls, SD, after working in the wholesale side of the furniture industry for several years. Their vision of how a mattress factory-direct company should operate involved designing & selling directly to the end-user a hand-crafted mattress, for a lower price than the traditional retailers, while offering an innovative level of long-term service.

Our early years saw the mass exodus out of the waterbed craze, helped along by the evolution of Comfort through the use of “pillowtop” style mattresses, which offerred significant more cushioning than had ever been available in mankind’s history.

In 1997, Comfort King opened our second location in Fargo, ND.

From day one, our goal has been to build trust with our customers by offerring Bottom-Line transparent pricing on all of our products.

At the beginning, our primary focus was on saving consumers money by Eliminating the Middleman, which is simply achieved by the fact that the vast majority of brands go through a double-markup system. But, over the years our trajectory has been aiming at Innovation in Comfort, Quality Construction & unprecedented Service.

Some examples of these Innovations: LIFETIME COMFORT GUARANTEE (yes, we invented this service back in 1996), installing Zippers for Comfort Adjustments, Latex foam in quilts, targeting extra support in Sleep Zones, SoftSpot Testing & Warranty (patented), FLØWT Zero-Gravity Gel (patent pending), to name a few. And we are not done yet!

My name is Travis Jungen, and I have been with Comfort King for 13 years.  What I most enjoy about my job is the variety –  no two days are exactly the same.  We have a great group of guys that are enjoyable to work with and dedicated to their careers.  I continue to find fulfillment in helping customers sleep better.  Purchasing a mattress can be a very difficult decision for people, it is rewarding when you are able to simplify the process and make the decision easier for the customer by showing them all the great reasons to choose Comfort King.  Our lifetime comfort guarantee gives customers peace of mind knowing that they can make changes to the feel of their mattress as their needs change.  I take pride in building a quality product and providing top-notch service.  I have lived my entire life in the Sioux Falls area.  I enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports, traveling, cooking, and watching my children grow up and attending their activities.

My name is Ben Enney. After 13 years, my favorite part of what we do at Comfort King is our focus on helping people sleep better.I really enjoy the challenge of doing comfort adjustments for our customers who have been sleeping on their Comfort King for many years. Over time, our bodies change, and with that so can our comfort preferences.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my 7 y/o daughter, Claira, going on walks with my Great Dane, Bork lifting weights, playing basketball, fishing, golfing, and avidly watching Minnesota sports teams let me down. I consider myself a bit of a foodie so you can catch me going out to eat quite often or using my smoker to make impressive meals!
